Shooting Star Trip

Shooting Star Trip

Time to look up to the stars!!

Date & time – Dec 13 10PM – Dec 14 5AM        Price – Rs 620/-    Place – Pondicherry

Nature’s greatest show on earth is back again this year on Dec 14, 2020, where you can watch 100s of meteors shower in the sky.

For the best views of these shooting stars, you need to be at an unpolluted location, away from city lights. We at Outdoor Being are organizing a small trip to a village just outside of Pondicherry to enjoy these spectacles of shooting stars from someplace with no light pollution.

This year’s magnificent meteor showers, the Geminids, will be taking place in the dark hours of the 13th and 14th of December. The Geminids is the king of meteor showers and presents as many as 140 meteors per hour. With a new moon in the sky, offering a darker sky, it will be one of the best Geminids meteor showers in years!

You do not need any optics for this meteor shower as the bright meteors will be visible to the naked eye. Adding on, a dark sky with minimal light pollution is going to give you the chance to see all of the meteors and not just the bright ones.

This trip will also include a workshop that will help you learn the ‘basics of constellations/stargazing’. We have an expert on astronomy who will also be joining us for the night to facilitate the workshop. We are happy to do this in collaboration with the space science company ‘Hyriostic Innovations’.
